Checkmark tables

Grant

Hello - I need to have small boxes on my Word document
that, when clicked on, will show a little checkmark or X
inside them. Is this possible in a Word document?
Thank you, Grant

You can use checkbox formfields (View>Toolbars>Forms). The document will
need to be protected for forms for them to work.

And if you don't want to protect the document for forms and can be satisfied
with a box that has to be double-clicked, see the check boxes used in the
fax cover sheet templates that ship with Word. If these will suit your
needs, post back for instructions on how to use them.

Can I add - I've just been looking for a tick symbol, either in Word
or Excel. The nearest I can find is the square root symbol. Is there a
better one?

Yes, in the Insert>Symbol dialog under the Wingdings font. Or hold down the
Alt key and type 0252 on the numeric keypad which will insert a ü, then
select that and apply the Wingdings font to it.

That's just what I wanted. Thanks, Doug.
