Child Level Pages

Themes just control the appearance of the site (and navigation)
Drag your page file from Folder List on to the Navigation View under the page you want it to be a child of
- if it won't allow you to, make sure the page is already not in the nav view (they can only be added once)

Then it sounds like that page is already in your nav view under some other page or the home page
