child records on the report

I have a form that contains a sub-form. Both the parent and the subform has a
common field that holds the exact number. I have created a query using the
record sources of both forms. I have created a report using the query, but
when I run the report, it does not list all record in the subform at once.
The report creates multiple pages showing the records in the subform
individually instead of showing all of them under one another.

Does this have to do with the way I have formated the report, or is something
missing else where?

I have the actual records to show in the detail section of the subform report
with the parent records showing in the page header section.

It sounds like you have at least one field from the child table in the
Report's Sorting and Grouping dialog inappropriately. Your first grouping
level should group by the Parent ID, and the group header should display only
parent-table fields; the second level of the sorting and grouping should
probably just sort, with no group header/footer.
