Chinese characters not shown in subject inspite of Unicode setting

Based on following article, I created a new PST file which is unicode based.

I imported old non-unicode pst file to new unicode based pst file. Now I am
able to see Chinese characters in email body and preview pane, but not in
email subject.
What could be the reason?
