Choosing custom colors

You couldn't take some time to copy and paste your question? Just out of
consideration for people you are asking to help you? That way you could
have left out the bit about "and the official Microsoft newsgroup is
lousy", which might have been a strategic move. Although frankly, I
think it's even less strategic to expect people to click on a tinyurl
and watch a screencast.

When I click on More Colors in Format | Font, I get the same OS X
crayon-color-slider thing that I get in System Preferences | Appearances
(well, it looks a little smaller, but is identical in design and function).

If it's Word-wide, is it also happening in Excel, PowerPoint? You don't
give the exact version of Office.

I'd very much like to know the basis for this opinion:
the official Microsoft newsgroup is lousy

A search of the archives indicates no postings by any "goyston" nor are
there any in the Word or Office groups that refer to "more colors" or
"custom colors", so it is apparently not from personal experience.

Further, exactly what is the address of what you're referring to as "the
official Microsoft newsgroup", and if it *is* this one, why did you return?

Given that you have alienated the two people in here most likely to be able
to answer your question, had you considered changing your methodology
slightly?

The only answer I can give you is "Word simply calls the OS X colour wheel",
so if it's working anywhere on your system it should be working in Word.

Not getting anywhere with the Apple support forums, so I thought I'd
ask here. Rather than rewrite my question, see

Thanks!

I actually tried to help, I'm not especially alienated. But there's no
point in recommending anything without knowing whether the problem is in
Word or all of Office.
