Chronological Dates

When I open MS Word documents I have already written, the current date is
inserted in place of the date when the document was created. I want the
original date the document was created, not today's date. How would I make
sure that documents reflect the dates upon which they were created?

When you insert the date/time into a document insert it without checking the
box update automatically. Thus it will only insert the current date/time of
your selection when you first perform the insert.
