Circled Characters

Does anyone know of a font or another good way to create circled
characters (imagine a scantron)?

I've tried using Autoshapes, but they move the text around and won't
center on the character.

Did you try Google? I'm sure there's a font like that out there. And what's
a scantron?

Remember the exams you used to take by filling in the circles with a No. 2
pencil? They were then read by a OCR program and compared to an answer key
electronically. It was and still is called a scantron.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, the idiot tests. Back then the only OCR program that read my
answers was the guidance counselor's eyeballs. I still remember one question
asking me whether I'd rather be a forest ranger or a garbage collector.
There were no "none of the above" type responses.

You can find circled numbers (0-9) in the Wingdings Font. For
additional
circled characters, see the Enclosed Alphanumerics character subset of
Arial
Unicode MS. If you need to enclose two-digit numbers, you will either
have
to use drawing objects (circles) or find a font that has semicircles
(left
and right) with the digits 0-9.

Scantron? Those tests you take where you fill in the circled letters or
numbers, they are ran through a machine for grading.
