Circular Reference ?

When a circular reference is made, Excel automatically
launches a help screen. Is there a setting that will turn
this function off?

Tools>Options>Calculate checkmark in "Iterations" and set to 1.

Not customary practice to use circular references. What are you doing that
causes the CR? Do you really need this operation?
