Citation list disappeared – all bibliography

P

puhis

I'm having a catastrophy im my hands right. I'm supposed to return my master thesis on wednesday and I realised that the citation list is empty! Yesterday it still had all my apporx. 150 citations neatly ordered and the bibliography and endnotes were working just fine.
Now, when the citation list is empty, if I update the bibliography – all the citations on it turns to: Invalid source specified!

Is this a known symptom of something and can I get the citation list back?

Or is it possible to import the citation list from an earlier document?

Or am I just screwed?

Hi Juhani,
Did you at any point save your document as .doc format? If so, then this is
the problem. In this case all citation instances in the document are
converted to static text and the sources are not saved. There is a
compatibility report warning that triggers for this scenario.

You can copy the sources back into your document (after saving to .docx) by
visiting the Citation Source Manager (click the "cog" button in the
Citations pane of the Toolbox). Select all of the sources from the master
list and copy them into the document. Unfortunately, you'll probably have to
reinsert the citations and the bibliography.

BTW: The master source list is stored in the ~/Documents/Microsoft User
Data/Sources.xml file.

I hope this helps. In the interest of time and your need for immediate help,
please feel free to contact me directly. My email is below.

Thanks,

Curt
