A wee issue has brought itself forward. The breakdown is...
1)created a mst file for the office msi. what I am doing is installing
a vbs file into the office directory and also have it placed in
start>allprograms/office.
2)had the gpo magician install the software.. all is ok really but the
strange thing is that the vbs file does not get installed on the
computer.Oh ya... this is Win Xp...i can use the maintwiz afterwards
and voila the vbs file gets installed where i wanted it in the first
place. Ok heres the stranger part.. if i push this gpo to a windows
2000 computer everything works just fine. My vbs file is installed and
resides where i want it.
3) i grumble for a while..
4)back to the drawing board. scratching head like crazy. what is
stopping the mst from perfoming its duties in the XP environment.
5) althought yes the maintxiz will acomplish my task I really do not
want to have to do this and why should I when the gpo install works
just fine on the win2k machines.
there must be something up with XP and they way it handles the calls..
Any one else have this issue or can anyone explain WHY this is
happening...
TIA..
