clarification on required disk space in Project Server 2007

Hi,
While taking complete backup of Project Server Database from Sharepoint
Central Administration, It has notified that the estimated disk space
required is 6.62 GB, whereas after completion of backup process, I observed
the Project server database dump is 338 MB.
Do we require more empty space for taking backup of Project Server
environment/databases.

I think that WSS backs up all the databases for projects server, then creates
a compressed file containing all the database along with some meta data.
Then it deletes the uncompressed files. This would explain the extra space
needed. The restore also takes extra space to.
