Hi,

using AppleScript try to do this:

Step to reproduce the problem.

1) Create a new folder at the Root level of Local Entourage folders ane name it "TEST"
2) Move 1 message from Sent Items folder to folder "TEST"
3) If you get properties of message 1 of folder "TEST" the class of message is "class:eek:utgoing message"
4) Drag and drop the message from folder "TEST" to Desktop. A .eml file will be created.
5) Delete the message in folder "TEST"
6) Drag back to Entourage in folder "Test" the .eml file from Desktop
7) If now you get properties of message 1 of folder "TEST" the class of message is "class:incoming message"

We are sure that this happens also to imported email from previous identities.

The class of emails changes (!!!)

I'm not an AppleScript guru but this actually makes sense to me.

The properties are defined by Entourage when the message is created and
are not stored within a message or file itself. Therefore, if Entourage
knows it created a message then it will know the message is an Outgoing
message. However, when you drag a message back in, Entourage has no idea
that it created it. If Entourage doesn't know that it created the
message then it must be an Incoming message.
