Clean pivot table combo box

I'm working with Pivot Tables in Excel 2000 and I found
that, after a few months the combo box for a pivot table
field is full of trash (useless data), is there a
procedure to clean up this combo box and get just updated
info.?
I'll really appreciate your help.
