Cleaning up Frant Page HTML

F

Frank

I am trying to clean up the generated HTML for front page
so that I can better validate my web pages. 2 areas that
I cannot seem to find are:

1. The shared borders - Front Page generates non-standard
html here. How can I change the code generated by shared
borders?

2. The following Meta tags are generated

<meta name="Microsoft Theme" content="experience 1111,
default">
<meta name="Microsoft Border" content="tb">

Where do the 2 names reside and how can I change them to
Microsoft-Theme and Microsoft-Border so they will meet the
4.0 standards?

I have already figured out how to add to the dtd file for
the non-standard attributes.

Thanks.. Frank email is junkmail<at>northcarolina.usa.com

I'm inclined to think neither of these is fixable. The
reason is that FrontPage adds these non-standard elements
for use by FrontPage itself, and not by a browser.

And if you changed the spelling or content, FrontPage
would no longer detect the needed information (especially
older versions of FrontPage).

Almost all HTML editors add things to the HTML for their
own use. FrontPage is no different.

But at least w/ FP 2003 you can optimize the html on publishing to remove most if not all traces of FP
