clear word formatting

hi, does anyone know how to clear word formatting from a word document
is there a button i can click that will remove all formatting from
document

It always helps to know the version of Word...

For the *body* of the document:
Press Ctrl+A
Press Ctrl+Q
Press Ctrl+Spacebar
Apply the "Normal" style

You'd need to repeat this in each header/footer, textbox and other
"document stories".

The other possibility would be to use File/Save As to save as plain text
(*.txt).
