Have you researched user sentiment regarding cleartype in Office 2007? There
must be many other users like myself who find that cleartype is a misnomer
and having it turned on causes eye strain caused by trying to focus on
something that has blurry edges, which describes cleartype fonts. If I
wanted blurry fonts I'd change my LCD screen resolution to a value that is
less than optimum - this pretty much has the same effect as cleartype!
I realize that cleartype can be turned off at the application level, but if
this is done the Office fonts look lousy because they obviously have been
designed to display using cleartype. I would suggest going back to Arial or
Tahoma.
