Just started happening. When I click the desktop Word icon-Word 2000 freezing
up. Do ctrl-alt-del. End task. Then if I go to open ANY other desktop item I
get the "Insufficiant system resources. Close programs etc" in a long white
box. When I go to the Start button, it comes up all blank. I then have to use
reset to reboot to use the desktop again.

However if I access any Word document through My documents folder, all works
fine. Whats up??

Well. after checking what one person said, I found that the shortcut path is
missing. Right click desktop icon, properties, shortcut. No shortcut path
shown. Now what?
I tried to delete and reinstall from the Win 98se control panel add/delete
but it tells me "The installation source for this product is not available.
Verify the source exists."
Now what. I'll try the links below also. Thanks

If the registry entries are screwed, thus preventing you from repairing the
Word installation, you will have to run setup from the original CD and
repair it from there.

Search your hard drive for winword.exe (you'll need to be sure to include
hidden and system files in the search). If you find it, create a new
shortcut and drag it to the desktop.
