Click Once in TOC

I am trying to create a TOC in the beginning of a long form that only
requires the user to click once instead of control-click. I would also like
to remove the shading so the whole thing looks a bit more professional. Any
help would be appreciated. Thx.

Turning the shading off can be accomplished by selecting "Never" from the
"Field shading" dropdown in the "View" tab of the "Options" dialog box - but
this is a user-specific setting, so there's really no way to make it
permanent for a particular document (short of writing code to turn it off
whenever your document is opened - NOT a good idea).

You can also make it so a single click will follow a hyperlink by clearing
the "Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlink" checkbox on the "Edit" tab of the
"Options" dialog box, but this is also a user-specific setting so the same
caveats apply as above.

Thanks for the response. I thought that would be the case--I want some of my
employees to start using this form so the user specific options you mentioned
below would probably just create confusion. I'll keep looking for code.
Thanks again.
