Click to select cell?

Using Excel XP with the latest patches. I have to click 3 times in a
cell to select the cell. I have toggled the TYPE DIRECTLY IN CELL
function and compared my settings to another computer and they are set
up correctly. The other system works correctly on the same sheet. Is
there something I am missing?

It could be a mouse setting. Check under Program >
Settings > Control Panel > Mouse.
