clicking a window brings all windows to front

When using Word 2008 v12.1.1 with more than 1 window open, if I click on a Word window all Word windows sometimes come to the front. This happens when I alternate between a window from another application and the most current Word window. If I am viewing a window from another application and click on a Word window that is not the most current, then only that window comes to the front. If however alternate between the other application window and the newly current Word window all Word windows will again come to the front. This doesn't happen with Excel or any other program that I am aware of. My setup has 2 monitors and Spaces is inactive. I'd appreciate any guidance.

Hi Art:

Learn to live with it. It's a design bug affecting the way Word's user
interface interacts with OS 10.5.

If you click on the "Edge" of the active window, it will happen less often.

Before you ask: We do not think they will fix this in the current (2008)
version. The change is too large for a service pack.

Sorry.
