clicking hyperlinks causes crash

Hello, and thanks in advance--

I've recently noted a problem, as I'm working on a document filled with
hyperlinks. clicking on any hyperlink causes Word to crash with the
messages:

"Microsoft word has encountered a problem and needs to close" and then "an
unexpected error has occurred"

I have tried several repairs from control panel and from the Word help menu,
as well as a reinstall from the CD. Also, I tried updated from the MS Office
update site, but an update to SP 3 and the additional security and other
updates to office did not solve the issue.

I'm running Office XP Small business, now updated to SP3 and have noted this
issue in both the installation of MS Word 2002 and Excel 2002.

Thanks for any assistance!

Thanks Dian,

I did clear a zillion temp files...all created from the crashes I had been
experiencing. Actually, the answer came to me in an amazing epiphany this
afternoon. It was as simple as the popup blocker I recently installed
(PopUpCop). With a few setting changes I was able to give Word permission to
spawn popup windows. Why Word would crash, I can't say. What amazes me is
that in all my Googling, I could find nothing about a popup blocker causing
this behavior!

Thanks again,

SEC

Well...if the blocker works as an addin in some way, then it could be
messing up Word? Have you tried starting with the /a switch to see if
that helps?
