Clicking links in Outlook

I keep getting an error whenever I try to click on a link. If someone sends
me an email with a link in it and I click on the link, this is the error that
I receive.

"Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not
properly installed."

What is the reason for this and how can I correct it?

Thanks,
Ergeordie

Open IE and click Tools>Internet Options>Programs. What's listed in the
"E-mail" field?

-- I have looked in the Programs list under Tools and it already says
Outlook as the default mail program. I will try a Detect and Repair and see
what happens.
Thanks,
