Clicking on a link to an Outlook appointment makes it a recurring appointment

While in OneNote, if I click on a link to an appointment in Outlook, and
then save that appointment, the appointment changes to a recurring
appointment. It also changes the start date and end date. Has anyone else
encountered this issue?
