clicking on connector tool does not shut it off

We just upgraded to Viso Standard 2003. The connector tool (and the other
tools surrounding it on the toolbar) do not shut off after using them by
clicking on them.
They turn on fine. I have been getting all the way out of it in order to
work on the text again. Is this a quirk in the upgrade or am I missing
something?

This is a subtle change we made in Visio 2003 to the tools. Usability
studies showed that users were having difficulty with the toggle behavior.
Now the buttons behave as radio buttons.
