clicking PRINT but office gives me SAVE, vista OS

i have recenlty bought a new pc with vista. have installed drivers for canon
ip2500 printer but when i click the print icon in word i am given the save
menu instead of the print menu.

what gives?

Sounds like you have an incompatible third party add-in messing with Word's
commands. To prove this, start Word in Safe Mode and test the print function
again.

From Star, Run, type in

winword /a

and press enter. Word is now in Safe Mode. Open and test print a document
now.
