clicking program button on the Windows taskbar causes word to close

A user in our office has this problem. OS is Windows XP
Professional with Office XP. The installation on the
problem machine was done in the same way and at the same
time (approximately 2 years ago) as all other machines in
the environment but no others have had the same problem.
Office patches are up to date.

If Word is minimised and the user works in another
program, such as Outlook or Windows Explorer, and then
clicks the program button on the taskbar, Word closes
completely rather than restores. I have replaced
Normal.dot but this did not fix the problem. Any help
gratefully appreciated.
