clicking Special Characters causes computer to crash

Office has recently been updated on my computer to 2003. In the new version,
when I click the Special Character button to see where tabs, line breaks,
spaces, etc. are, the computer crashes. It goes to a blue screen with a text
message that disappears before I can read most of it, but has something to do
with a "thread" or "string." The blue screen lasts about one second, the the
computer reboots. I lose everything I have not saved. What causes this, and
how can I fix it?

Click Start > Run
Type eventvwr.msc and click OK
Look in the System event log, and look for Stop errors. There should be
one from approximately the time that the computer last went down with a
blue screen.

Can you copy and paste the details of this error (double-click it to get
the full information) into a reply to this message?

Hello, Ed,

I found an information entry with some details of the incident. I could not
find any related stop errors. I also could not copy and paste - I right
clicked but there was no "copy" button available to me. So, I am typing this
for you by hand:

"The computer has rebooted from a bug check. The bug check was: 0x000000e
(0xffb0cb68, 0xffb56a98, 0x00000000, 0x00000002). A dump was saved in:
C:\windows\minidump\mini102806-02.dmp."

I hope this helps you help me.
