I request that Word and Intenet Explorer are two differnet applications, and
should be in different windows. Don't "convert" Word windows to Exploer
windows.
Here's the fact pattern.
I have a Word doc, edit edit edit. The Word doc has a hyperlink in it.
I click on the hyperlink. Unlike every other context where crossing a
boundary from one applcaiton to another causes a new window to open, in this
context the Word window "converts" to an Internet Explorer window. But
there's no warning that something out of the ordinary has happened.
When I'm done reading the web page, I do what I always do - click the red X
But because of the "just gotta do something different in this one context"
anamoly, the Word window is closed too! The backup is gone, the edits are
all gone.
The requeted fix is that Word->Explorer should work just like every other
application-to-appliation transition - open a new window.
