Client test connection fails

Although
1)Project Web Access login works from client machine
2)All seems fine on server (e.g., EditHost tests pass, etc.)

I still cannot pass the connection test from the client machine using
the same windows authentication used for PWA. Attempts generate the
401 error message "You are not authorized to view this page."

I've read many other posts here, but the problem persists. Any help
appreciated.

I'm guessing by the volume of posts on this topic that there is a good
document somewhere now on this(?).
