Clients cannot connect after Exchange 2007 install

We brought down our exchange 2003 and installed a fresh install of exchange
2007.
Now, when clients open their outlook, it will not automatically connect.
We have to go into the mail icon and redo the configuration. Then it works.

We have about 1300 computers and I need to know if there is some other way.

The 2003 we brought down was named Exchange and our new one is named the
same with the same IP address. We also checked DNS and no issues there.
