Clip Art Gallery 5.0

For me Clip Art Organizer is more of a Disorganizer. I miss using Clip Art
Gallery 5.0, and now just purchased and loaded Microsoft Office Standard
Edition 2003(big-big mistake 2000 Small Business much better). Is there any
way I can purchase Clip Art Gallery 5.0 as a Stand-Alone? I'm seriousely
considering returning to Microsoft Office 2000, to get away from Clip Org,
and miss having more functionality i.e. graphic editing programs like Msdraw,
etc. The Thumbnails in Clip Organizer are much smaller and harder to see.
It's just personal preference. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Katin,

If the Clip Gallery is still installed from a prior
version you can run it from Start=>Programs or from
inside of Word through Insert=>Object, it's not available
as a separate product.

The MS Draw Add-in was replaced by the built in
MS Drawing Canvas (Insert=>Picture=>New Drawing for
either one, depending on your version of Word/Office.

You can turn off the drawing canvas from auto-appearing
for every graphic object using the setting in
Tools=>Options=>General.

Thank Mary S and Bob B. I am now in the process of collecting a refund from
Dell. The disk for Office 2000 was damaged, which was another reason for our
trying an upgrade, in the first place. I know the Lifecycle support for
Office 2000 is expiring in 2006, but finding support for Standard hasn't been
easy anyway. They keep routing back to the Professional Edition which is
radically different, and still has no Clip Art Galllery :-(. Thanks for
saving me hours waiting on the phone, to talk to these people.

Drawing Canvas to my knowledge is somewhat limited compared to other editing
programs, that we had with Office 2000. You can reformat and change colors,
but not much else, i.e. inserting other graphs (stacking, layering). It
could be that I haven't found that option yet; either way, doesn't matter
now. We're more than likely going to get a refund, because of all the other
limitations, as well. Thank you, just the same. : )

TX, Bob! I couldn't figure out how to "get to" the Gallery. I agree with
other posts, it was so much better than "organizer."
