Clip art photos jumping off the page

[FMC]

I am compiling a recipe booklet that includes filler sheets between sections.
I am using landscape layout and 2 pages to a sheet. On one page there is
text and on the next page there are a couple lines of text (heading) and a
clip art photo pasted under the heading. Everything looks fine on print
preview but when I actual print these pages the photo appears over the text
in the preceeding page directly in line with where it was on the 2nd page.
The end result is a printed page of text obscured by a photo and blank space
on the 2nd page where the photo should be. What is happening? Can I shut off
text wrapping? If I insert a page break at the bottom of page one, a blank
page appears between pages that I want on the same sheet of paper.
I'm going around in circles with this problem. Any help would be very much
appreciated. I am at my deadline to get this booklet completed.

you are tasked with a job like that, consider using Publisher.

graphics and text to stay where I want them in Word. I have faith in the
Word MVPs to be able to point you in the right direction though. They're

There are several things to note when dealing with text and pictures:
1) Pictures are "anchored" to paragraphs and exist in the document
with that paragraph
2) Wrapping options (the dog button on the picture toolbar) change
that relationship in ways that can be confusing; the anchor is stilled
maintained, but the image may appear in another location.

One thing to try to help maintain the arrangement is to put the image
in a table (and turn off the borders) and make sure the picture is set
to "In line with text" in wrapping. The table will have its own anchor
points so that the image will not have to be associated with text on
another page. The table will also constrain the image.

I tried your recommendation of putting the image in a table and the same
situation happens. I then drew in a table instead of insert a table, and the
same thing happens. The image still appears on the text side of the
preceding page when printed. I quess I'm stuck for sure.

Yes, Publisher can be purchased on its own.

(Note - the Home and Student edition is for non-commerical use only. Because
it's a recipe booklet with a deadline, I kind of suspect that you are doing
commerical work with it. I'm not the software police tho...)

Did you check the text wrapping? Are you seeing the image anchor? You
may have to turn on the display of non-printing characters.

the preceding page.

However, if this is happening when you are using tables, it suggest maybe a
printer driver problem.

contains all favorite family recipes from her aunt and uncles, including many
of her deceased mother. It will be a gift to her. Not commercial at all.

one page per sheet of paper vs. two, and that eliminated or circumvented the
problem. The printer who will be compiling the finished booklet may not be
happy but it works. I did learn that "word" has some wonderful features but
also a few problem areas. When I can scrape up some $, I'm going to buy "ms
Publisher" for future projects, if any. Thanks again.

I am experiencing this same problem and still searching for an answer. But I
did find a work around. If you save the document in Word 97-2003 format and
then print as you orginally wanted (2 pages per sheet) it should print fine.

If anyone has found an actual solution I'd be grateful to hear.
