Often when you bring clipart or a graphic in, Word likes
to see it as an "inline" graphic, meaning it wants it to
behave as much like a typed character as possible. That
limits what you can do with the clipart.
To change that, select the graphic.
Select Format -> Picture.
Click the Layout tab and choose 'Square' or 'Tight'.
Click OK - now Word sees the clipart differently and
gives you more options.
From the Drawing toolbar at the bottom of the Window (if
it is not currently displayed, select View -> Toolbars ->
Drawing), select Draw -> Rotate or Flip -> Flip Vertical.
