Clip Art saves to local profile and locks

Hi, I looked around and couldn't find a similar post.

Briefly: I work for a business that have profiles set up for each staff
member to store their personal documents. These profiles allow for 30,000 KB
of data to be stored to their individual folders on the network (my
documents, my pictures, etc). Nothing is allowed to be saved to the C:/
drive. Any non-personal files are saved to a different drive for access by
anyone.

With that said: the problem I've encountered is when using the clipboard
with Word 2007. When you use Ctrl+C (or printscreen) on an image, it creates
a temporary file within my profile. As most know, images are large files.
As a result, my profile now exceeds its allowable size and it will lock.
Even after I paste an image, the profile still remains locked. After I close
Word, I imagine the clipboard clears, my profile returns to its previous
state.

It will be bothersome to clear the clipboard all the time. I've done this
same thing using Word 2002 without any profile problems. Is there a way I
can change where the clipboard sends the temporary file to? Is there a way
we can change it to the C:/ since there is more room?

I've found a handful of tricky little things like this with the new Office
2007. However, I imagine it's to be expected with anything new. In time the
kinks will be worked out.

Thank you so much for your time and assistance.

It is greatly appreciated.

A user must have complete control of their own profile on their local HDD as
this is where temp files are created and deleted. So full permissions MUST
be granted. The profile is also where Word creates the user's normal.dot
file. They must be able to save changes to normal.dot. There is no point in
placing a normal.dot on the server for everyone to share: it doesn't work.

You need to completely rethink how you have set up your system. I suggest
resisting any attempt to stop users saving to their local drives. Just
change the default paths to point to the server to make it inconvenient to
save to the local disk.

If you are that worried about your staff, then buy dumb terminals and use
Citrix Metaframe.

Thank you so much for your help. I will make sure to pass the suggestion to
my supervisor.

Take care.
