Clip Art won't open

J

John Lincoln

Using Office 2004 / OS 10.3.9 / G4 Pb / 384 memory

In WORD 2004 - Clip Art won't open. There is no icon bounce - the
screen blinks for a second and I'm back where I started.

No problem with "Insert Picture" - I can insert files like j000000 or
000000.jpg or whatever.

I don't get a clip art gallery - I've tried re-installs - still
nothing

Reinstalls, while they're often recommended for Windows machines, almost
never work for Macs - it's very rare that an application gets corrupted.

For Office, you should always run the Remove Office application to
uninstall Office before reinstalling, or you may compound your problem
rather than solve it.

It's far more likely that your disk permissions aren't set correctly,
or your preferences are corrupt.

For the first, reset your disk permissions using the Disk Utility app in
the Applications:Utilities folder.

For the second, try, with all Office apps closed, renaming your

~:Library:preference:Microsoft

folder (where ~ is your home folder), then restart Word.

If the problem is still there, it's worth testing your Normal template.

refresh a couple of times).
