clip gallery crashes office applications

running office 2000, various applications, using win98se
when i go to insert a "picture from clip gallery", i get
an error message, and a dialog box telling me to close
the application.
this has been happening on three different machines, all
with the same setup (we're in a school)
it has not happened in any other room in the school, and
is becomeing frustrating.
i reloaded office 2000 on one of the machines, but it
didn't make a particle of difference.
please help!

Have you installed all of the patches from
http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate?

When you start the Clip Gallery standalone program from the Start Menu, does
it crash?

2 of machines have no internet access. will try it on third machine. thanks

btw- exact error message i am getting is "Winword caused an invalid page
fault in module RPCRT4.DLL at 017f:7fbd0894

Clip Gallery doesn't access the internet (though there is a hyperlink to the
website in it).

not that clip gallery has to access the internet-- but the patch is on the
internet, is it not?
how do i get same patch onto the machines that don't have access?
