Am running a lab of 10 iBooks with Mac OS 10.2, Office for Mac X.
Server is Mac OS 10.1. Office is loaded on individual iBooks; students
store data in accounts on the server.
When the year begins, ClipArt works fine. But as time goes on, when
they try to insert ClipArt, the students begin to get messages that
certain databases cannot open. If they click the okay button,
eventually the error messsages disappear/finish and ClipArt is usable.
But it has gotten up to 30 individual error messages!
I am not sure that these items are even databases; some of the names
look suspiciously like non-clipart files.
Have tried deleting the students' Microsoft User folders, but this
does not always work. Have also tried deleting their entire documents
folders, with sometimes some success but not always.
Please do not tell me that we need new server software - I know
that, but we cannot afford it. The constant updates and their prices
are a real problem for private schools who use macs.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
