Clipboard Contents - Can't View

I have taken every step suggested by Word to keep clipboard contents viewable
& nothing works. I've clicked Edit, Office Clipboard, then Options within
the Office Clipboard, and checked Show Clipboard Automatically & Show in
Taskbar. If I exit out of the Clipboard, the icon in Taskbar goes away even
though there are items still on the clipboard.

How can I make the icon in Taskbar remain there when there are items on the
clipboard?
