When pasting a file from the clipboard to Microsoft Picture Manager.
Be able to set the default file format to something other than just (*.bmp)
bitmap format.

If the original was *.bmp, just export from Picture Manager as *.jpg.
If the original was not *.bmp and you copied to the clipboard from a web
site, try cleaning out your Temporary Internet Files.
