Clock icons on calendar after update

S

Steve

Running Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2003.
Apparently the server had automatic updates enabled and installed
critical updates which I guess included the DST, Outlook Calendar and
the Exchange update. So today out of nowhere the little clock icons
showed up next to many of the calendar entires - users got worried -

What do those icons indicate?
Most of the entries that they appear next to start on one day and end
on another.
I could not find info about this on Microsoft - Users started to
simply recreate the entries.
Is there another way to handle this?

The clocks usually indicate that an appointment spans more than one day,
though there is an option users can set to show all times as clock icons.

See if this article helps you to straighten this out for your users:

This has nothing to do with the DST update, I started seeing it on my
computers last year before the update arrived and it was affecting
appointments next summer not in the range affected by the DST change. Also,
I do not have the "show time as clocks" option set.
