Close Database

Is there a way that I can have one Access 2000 close another Access 2000
that is already open?

More Info:
I have an Access 2000 database that runs all day long and grows very large
in size by the end of the day. Every morning I have to manually
repair/compact the database. What I would like to do is schedule a job that
runs at night that would run another Access database and close the first
database then repair/compact the first database.

Is this possible and how can I do this?
