Close Error

Whenever I close Powerpoint I get a failure error and the program restarts
and send diagnostics data to Microsoft. Word does this most of the time as
well but not Outlook or Excel.

I am running Office Outlook 2007 with SP1 on Windows XP SP2. I didn't always
have this problem and have tried reinstalling it but no luck.

I'm having the same issue when closing PP. Any way to fix it?

Well, I have the same question for you as for the other poster: do you have
any add-ins installed?

Yes. The only add-in installed is SnagIt (version 8.2.3).

If you disable SnagIt, does that fix the problem?

You should disable any other add-ins you find in the add-in section of
Office Button | PPT Options, too, as you troubleshoot.

Also, and this will seem weird, but make sure you have a Windows-certified
printer driver installed on the computer (not on the network) and set as the
default printer. Here are instructions: http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00605.htm

I went to the PP Options and selected Trust Center>Trust Center Settings and
enabled the first two selections. This eliminated the problem; however, no
Add-ins work anymore. I'll try the non-network printer suggestion and reverse
the TC settings to see what happens. Side thought...If (any or some) add-ins
cause this problem, does that mean this feature in PP is broken??

I'd say there's an incompatibility between PPT and the particular add-in(s)
that causes the close error. Once you identify the culprit, you may want to
ask the add-in manufacturer if they have an update or something that
corrects the problem.
