Close option on Excel greyed out

I have Excel 2002 on a 2000 pro platform. When opening
Excel, the "X" next to the minimize/maximize button is
greyed out. I am unable to close the application. I
checked with the privacy/security settings and it
states "Protect Notebook", so the "Unprotect Notebook"
function is in use.

This is actually on one of my users machines. Not sure if
another application has interfered with Excel.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
