Closes for no reason

I minimize my Word app in windows and when I attempt to Maximize the window, word shuts down. Some things are recovered with the auto recover feature, but the program closes after toggling from IE to word...any ideas?

This is the Handwriting Recognition bug. Run Office Setup and under Advanced settings look for Alternative Inputs. Deselect the Handwriting Recognition and click OK: Setup will uninstall the utility.

Test Word now and it should be OK. If you use Handwriting Recognition, it is safe to run Setup and reinstall it again.
