Closing Excel

I have a problem that I can't figure out. When I have
more than one workbook open and I close one they all
close. I looked in the options and cannot find a setting
to change this behavior. Can someone help me out? Thanks
in advance.

Click on the inner red X not the outer red X === or go to File Close and close
them that way
