Closing File in Error

Is there any way to use the feature that automatically
backs up the file to restore the file to that backup? I
inadvertently closed Excel without saving my recent
changes which I would like to have back (big dummy), but
before I reenter everything, I was thinking that maybe
the file that the automatic backup made can be brought
back up.

for a software package that can reclaim a file that no
longer has pointers to it. The 'Bigger Dummy'
