Closing, Pasting, etc. reboots computer

If I close Excel, the computer instantly reboots.
If I paste in Excel, the computer instantly reboots.
This is driving me up a wall!!!!

The computer is running Windows NT with Office 2000.
It has the most recent service pack (6a).
Any ideas?
