No, there is no way to set up co-project managers using the default features
of Project Server 2007. To enable a form of what you want to do, you would
need to dit the My Projects category to include "All current and future
projects." This will allow each PM to see and edit all projects. Then you
will need to ask the chief project manager to create the initial project
plan and save it in the Project Server 2007 system. Then each co-PM will
need to open the project and add his/her own portion of the WBS. When the
project is ready to be published, the chiefPM will need to publish the
project. Then each of the co-PMs will need to open the project
individually, insert the Status Manager column in any Task view, and choose
him/herself as the Status Manager for the tasks that he/she is responsible,
and then publish the project again. This process will make each co-PM the
manager of the tasks for which he/she is responsible.
Given the complexity of creating the project and then trying to have
multiple people manage it, wouldn't it be easier for each PM to create a
project consisting of the tasks he/she will manage and then publish that
project? And then the chief PM could create a master project consisting of
each co-PMs projects as sub-projects, and then set cross-project
dependencies as needed. The chief PM can then save and publish the master
project. I think this might be easier and less clumsy than having multiple
managers in the same project. Hope this helps.
