Code for tab to use in replace box

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC I want to reformat some text and need to both get rid of paragraph spaces and insert tab indents. My old routine in the Search and Replace box was to use ^p for paragraph and ^t tab. Someone else on this form was kind enough to inform me that with Word 2008 the command for paragraph is ^l, but I need to know the command for tab.

Also is there a place in the help files that provides this info? I looked all over with no luck

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Hi Johnny,

the tab code is ^t, and ^l is for line returns. My guess is that your
Find & Replace command is not working because ^l is not what you want in
this particular case. There is no difference between Word 2008 and
earlier versions of Word in this particular area, so the problem must
lie with the search parameters themselves.

You can find a small, but very useful tutorial on wildcards on the Word
