Code resources and OS X

Has anyone written an external code resource for Word (or any office
component for that matter) that works on OS X?

Using VBA, Word can apparently access functions written in C that are
packaged as a code resource, but I can't seem to get this to work on
OS X. I keep getting a "code resource not found" error. The path to
the file that contains the resource is correct, and I believe the
syntax I'm using is correct. Just wondering if anyone has got this to
work, especially on X.
